Black Business Association

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Black Business Association (BBA) is dedicated to supporting the effective business activity of Black entrepreneurs and Black employees in the capital. 

The BBA champions success within London’s Black business community and provides a platform for Black owned businesses to network, do business and address barriers to equality.

The BBA is open to LCCI Members and the Community Network.

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Black Business Association was founded in 2020 and is dedicated to lobbying and supporting the effective business activity of Black entrepreneurs and owners. The BBA's mission is to demonstrate the investable credibility of Black British business and significantly influence the governments agenda on racial injustice, discrimination and economic empowerment.

LCCI are delighted that BBA member Segun Akinwoleola, Founder of The Gym Kitchen, was a recent winner of Channel 4 and Lloyds Bank's Black In Business initiative. The company received £100k worth of TV advertising airtime and a TV advert as part of the initiative to support and address obstacles faced by Black entrepreneurs.

The Black Business Association Committee is dedicated to lobbying and supporting the effective business activity of Black entrepreneurs and owners. The Committee is chaired by Lord Dr Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE and Vice Chair Kike Oniwinde Founder and CEO, BYP Network. The Committee comprise of leaders from the Black business community with experience and expertise in a variety of related disciplines.

LCCI has published a paper on ethnic diversity in business and what is needed to remove the barriers impeding minority-led business success. The report looks at the correlation between demographics of individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds and subsequent success in business and highlights the problems that ethnic minorities face accessing finance and procurement opportunities.
